Paul Zahra quits David Jones through social media

CEO of David Jones, Paul Zahra has quit his role as of today after taking to LinkedIn and Twitter to let the world know.

This comes just after David Jones, the Woolworths group from South Africa $2.2 billion acquisition. Paul Zahra as of 10 hours ago opened his official Twitter @PaulZahra2 by tweeting his resignation.

He will be staying on as an advisor for a few months to make sure the handover runs smoothly; the successor will be former Country Road boss Iain Nairn. Paul Z published a statement on his LinkedIn profile; he said the reason for his exit point was down to the strong financial performance of the business as well as the recent changes of management and the company’s transition under new ownership.

He said he had no immediate plans other than a holiday, his LinkedIn post said he is looking forward to a sabbatical before making a decision about any future role. But he will be staying in touch over the next few months.

Paul Zahra has been with David Jones for 16 years, with the past four years as CEO. On his LinkedIn resignation post many followers commented wishing him all the best for the future.
