Social media influences shopping habits

It seems when it comes to shopping habits social media plays a huge part in this with consumers, an infographic has been put together by DigitasLBI, which covers the modern shopper across 12 countries.

The 12 countries listed include United-Kingdom, USA, France, Singapore, Italy, Denmark, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, China, Sweden and Spain.

We know all to well mobile devices are being used by consumers when it comes to online shopping, but we are not going to discuss about the mobile device influence on shopping as we would like you to just read that part, what is rather interesting to us is the social media influences shopping habits.

The infographic below shows 88% of people use at least one social network when it comes to a medium for influencing shopping habits,

Interestingly 30% of social media users mention that in-store they buy more products from brands they follow on social media networks, 40% of social media users say they have already shared a purchase on a platform and the stats also show 30% of uers did so to get a financial reward.

88% of people generally use at least one social network. 99% in China, 78% in Germany. 54% of social network users admit to having been influenced when making purchases by at least one social network. 82% of Chinese shoppers, 74% in Singapore, 55% in Spain, Italy and US. 45% of social network users say they buy more products from brands they follow on social media networks. 80% in China, 63% in Singapore, 50% in Spain and around 40% in US, UK and Italy
