Dr Dian Fossey was the well-known American zoologist who became famous after studying gorillas, she would have been 82 last Thursday and a Google Doodle went love on the search engine to celebrate her birthday.

She used to work very hard in West Africa, which was also famous for her 1983 book called Gorillas in the Mist. The book also turn into a movie starring Sigourney Weaver playing Fossey herself. The downside to the movie was that it brought a lot of attention to the issues of gorilla conservation.

In 1985 the words ‘Dian Fossey Death’ still sticks out in everyone’s mind because the motive for attack was never determined, she was sadly found dead in her cabin in Rwanda.
