Pinterest public API release for selected sites

The new Pinterest public API release is underway, but this new service is only available for selected sites.

The first set of Pinterest API’s were recently released, API for those that are not in the know means ‘Application Programming Interface’ which basically means developers can now create certain applications that will interface with web services that are popular such as Pinterest as well as other software.

The public API release will show off the most popular images that were pinned on many websites.

API endpoint are now showing up on a few websites and these Pinterest partner sites and apps include Walmart, AllRecipes, Elle Magazine, Better Homes and Garden, Mashable, ModCloth, NBC News Digital’s iVillage.com, Wayfair, Whole Foods, Zappos, Zulily, as well as Nestlé, Random House, Snapguide, Target, BabyZone, BuzzFeed and Babble with others coming soon.

Developers will be able to integrate different ways onto their sites and apps, these include: Top Pins API, Most Recent, Domain search and Related Pins.
