CNN Blackfish documentary movie sparks debate online

CNN aired the TV debut of Blackfish on Thursday October 24 at 9 p.m. ET and got its ratings wins; CNN hosted the TV movie premier of Blackfish.

This has caused a huge amount of comments on Twitter, Facebook and CNN with the majority saying they will never go to a SeaWorld show ever again. You can visit any of the CNN Blackfish news reports and the comments are fairly powerful.

Mobile and online, Blackfish was ranked #1 in page views among all CNN films this year.

The CNN Films documentary explores the consequences of human and animal, and talks about the life of Killer whales at centres such as SeaWorld and about a trainer being killed.

The Blackfish documentary on CNN won the 9-11 p.m. block with an average 472,000 viewers in the adults 25-54 demographic. This was a result for CNN because it saw them way above the likes of Fox News Channel with 311,000 and MSNBC with 235,000 viewers.

Blackfish was very strong indeed with adults ageing from 18-49, this has beating other CNN films this year.

The Blackfish CNN movie did spark a debate; you can see a piece of the Blackfish trailer below. Blackfish tells the tragic story of a SeaWorld trainer that was killed by a 12,000-pound orca in 2010.     So powerful I wept. This was a peak experience on every level. I will always remember it. And I will never, ever go to SeaWorld.
