Long running football Manager Sir Alex Ferguson retires from Manchester United, this announcement came via the official Man U Twitter account today, which said, “Sir Alex Ferguson retires. #thankyousiralex.”

Ferguson has been on the job for 26 years and this is very sad news to all those that followed him over the years, he has decided to leave the football club after its 20th English Premier League title last month.

The manager will leave on May 19th after the West Bromwich Albion game; he will not be hiding from the sport because he will be joining the football club’s board.

Sir Alex led Manchester United FC to 13 EPL titles, which everyone would agree is great news, it will be such a shame to many of Man U fans to see him leave.

For those that love the man will be happy to know he will become the Director and Ambassador for Manchester United.

Ferguson took over Manchester United back in 1986 and since then has gained 5 League Cups, 2 Champions League crowns and 5 FA Cups.
