YouTube tape mode adds VHS memorable distortion

Today is the day we can all watch pure quality videos on the web, we have HD quality that is getting better as time matures, but do you remember VHS? This is where we say hello to ‘YouTube Tape Mode’, which brings memorable distortion.

There are millions that call VHS crappy, but we say it was a part of life and it marked a place that we all live in today. Millions watch YouTube videos on a daily basis and now the video giants have added a cool feature called YouTube Tape Mode on select videos.

This feature was added to celebrate the 57th birthday of the VCR, it was this that made the way we watch videos today. Tape mode adds that old-school look that video cassette recorders gave us back in the day and shows the magic, which we once had.

If you look at the quick video we made you will see the difference between normal mode and tape mode, it is such a shame this feature has only been added on select videos but it was fun to walk back in time to watch the fuzzy we once had.

The first VCR was priced at $50,000 and was called the Ampex VRX-1000 back in 1956, the mainstream video recorder came in the 1970s and peaking high in 1980s and ’90s, it was the DVD that killed VCR and VHS was no longer.
