Twitter hashtag popularity leads to Path integration with iOS app

Path’s personal social network app had an update yesterday, and the new feature builds on the Twitter hashtag popularity that leads to the Path integration with the iOS app.

Path seems to be moving forward by following the likes of Twitter, and this was proven yesterday when the Path got its 3.0.2 update that now adds ‘Hashtags’, this new addition allows users to tap on hashtags that will now search moments in a flash.

Above you will see a tweet by co-founder and CEO of Path, Dave Morin, he was happy to share on Twitter that they are delighted to bring #hashtags to Path in the 3.0.2 update.

Thanks to TNW, they have given OSM a clearer insight to Path and hashtags and one example they talk about is when they added “#happy” to a post. Once they did this they tapped the tag and it showed posts that had the happy smiley face emoticon. This means results will even pull up non-hashtagged posts.

The Path app update also contains performance improvements and bug fixes, please do let us know if you have installed the new update and what you think of the new hashtags addition?
