HP Envy 15 & 17-inch laptops refreshed with Dr.Dre

Are you on the lookout for a new laptop but are spoilt for choice? We can now bring you news that HP’s existing Envy laptop models have now undergone a complete redesign overhaul. Envy models 15 and 17 have been completely refreshed internally as well as too the eye. On appearance above, the new Envy models come complete with new solid black lids, silver palm rests and as Slashgear reported, new Beats by Dr. Dre logo branding, around the volume dial along with a red border around the backlit keyboard.

We have to say that we’ll impressed so far by what we’ve seen, but do the internals scrub up well? Available in 15-6 inch and slightly bigger 17.3-inch models, the new Envy devices come complete with “Radiance Infinity” displays showing off crisp, bright images. It’s here that we have to add though, that the bigger out of the two comes only with a 1080p Radiance screen with TN panel, whereas the smaller although packing a lower resolution will get the full IPS panel.

Internal specs for the 15-inch and 17-inch laptops include, a Core i5-2430M processor, AMD Radeon graphics, 6 gigs of DDR3 memory, 500GB 7, 200RPM hard drive, DVD drive and Beats technology by way of six channel speakers and subwoofer with a battery life of at least nine hours.

In terms of price, the new 15-inch HP will set you back $1,000 with the 17-inch at $1,599, with availability from December 7th. Check out two other laptop posts that we’ve brought you recently including the new Toshiba Portege and HP Folio 13.
