Firefox 8 download now available, Twitter integration included

Firefox users can now enjoy the latest version of the search engine, Firefox 8.0. From its introduction it took nearly 7 years to get to version 4.0, but since then the last 8 months have brought us up to the 8.0.

With this latest update users will find the Twitter Search option, which is available for Windows, Mac and Lunix. As Mozilla comments on its blog, “Twitter Search in Firefox makes it easier to discover new topics, #hashtags and @usernames.”

According to Pocket Lint, while the new search facility covers English, Portuguese, Slovenian and Japanese versions of Firefox, other languages will follow. There is also the addition of tabs on demand, with version 8.0 disabling add-on’s that can be installed without your permission.

Added security for Android has also been introduced with a master password feature, while bookmarked websites can be put on the home screen allowing one touch launching.
