Gmail app pulled after iOS issues

Poor Google and their new Gmail app! Just yesterday, the search engine had to pull the plug on its new launched app for Apple devices such as the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. The reason, Google as they said had “messed up” by launching a version that had subsequent problems.

The new Gmail app was to provide an email service for Apple devices, making it easier for mobile users to navigate. With the newly released app and the issue of an “error message,” lead to consumers complaining, therefore the company as computerworld.com stated, had no choice but to pull the app in order to fix the problem(s).

In a brief statement from Google, which was also posted onto Twitter they said, “Unfortunately, it contained a bug which broke notifications and caused users to see an error message when first opening the app.”

Google’s top man Vice President of apps David Girouard issued his own apology by saying; “Sorry but we pushed a bad version of our iOS app for Gmail. More info shortly – we’re working on it.”

For the meantime, Google are working on fixing the problem, as to when it will be rectified remains to be seen.
