Samsung Exhibit II 4G at Walmart: October 27th

Samsung’s list of current and forthcoming mobile phone handsets just doesn’t seem to be stopping. With what seems to be continuous rivalry between Apple and the South Korean company, Samsung have just announced another to their range, that of the Exhibit II 4G.

Previously rumored in the past, the new Exhibit II will be carried by T-Mobile with retailer Walmart running with the new device on a “no contract” basis. This will as Shane McGlaun over at Slashgear reported, be the first 4G to be sold at Walmart without the need for a contract.

So what do we know about the new Sammy? Including a 3.7-inch WVGA display, the Exhibit II will pack a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, run on Android’s 2.3 Gingerbread OS, 3 megapixel rear camera with flash and video recording, connectivity via WiFi, accessibility to Android’s Marketplace, Samsung Media Hub and of course 4G HSPA+ T-Mo network.

We have to point out that the Exhibit II will also be available on a contract should you desire for a price of $29.99 after a $50 mail-in-rebate. As a stand-alone price, the new Samsung will set you back $199.99 and will be available from Walmart tomorrow (October 27th), with T-Mobile stores from November 2nd. The only drawback, if you can call it that, is it only comes in a “Marine Blue” color with no other options.

Would you be tempted by the new Exhibit II at Walmart? Or would you prefer your hard earned pennies to be spent on another phone?
