Samsung on Apple patents and Galaxy Nexus

We’ve known for some time that two of the biggest smartphone companies have been battling it out in court over the topic of patents, yep that’s right, we’ll talking about Samsung and Apple. The latest news to come to light is on the subject of the new Samsung Galaxy Nexus, which was officially announced just this week.

Already reported to be a monumental phone, the specs are pretty impressive with what will be an overall design. The problem lies with the two companies fighting over devices looking similar and Apple excusing Samsung of copying their ideas. To avoid any patent issues this time around, its been reported from Engadget, that in a recent interview with Samsung’s Executive VP of Product Strategy “Won Pyo Hong,” he spoke openly about the new Galaxy Nexus and how the design of the new smartphone was thought up years before, with concept to shipping times taking a lifetime!

As reported, courtroom battles between the two have now consequently spread from what started out to be on Apple’s home ground of California, to other countries such as France, Germany, Australia and Korea feeling the full brunt.

It was also noted that President of Samsung’s Mobile Division “Shin Jong Kyun” said, “Now we will avoid everything we can and take patents very seriously. We will see if the Galaxy Nexus will be 100 percent free from lawsuits.” Along with this, future Samsung plans have included rumors of a new build of TouchWiz, this is something to keep an eye on.
