Sales figures for Android Honeycomb tablets questioned

It’s fair to say that Apple really knew what they were doing when launching the iPad, and with the second generation only adding to that success, other brands are trying to take some of Apple’s tablet market share with great difficulty.

Google has not published the latest sales figures for Android Honeycomb tablets, although this has not stopped certain blogs and news media questioning them when compared to the iPad.

One Android developer based in Kent, UK has looked at what the latest sales could be for Honeycomb and he has landed on the figure of 3.4 million, which is not that impressive, if true. You can see Al Sutton’s tweet on his Twitter page here.

Those of you that want to know a little more about Android 3.2 features may want to read this article, which details all you need to know in a hands-on review, a good read while you wait for Ice Cream Sandwich. Official Android 3.2 details can be found on Google’s developer website found here.

Do you think it’s fair to compare Android tablet sales to Apple’s iPad, just like other people do with iPhone sales compared to Android?
