Carrier Sprint iPhone 5 / iPhone 4S To Fruition?

Months and months of iPhone speculation will be rounded off in one event due to take place on Tuesday October 4th . Starting at 10 am in the US and 6 pm in the UK, Apple’s major event will be led by new CEO Tim Cook at the company’s Headquarters in what is hoped to be that of the iPhone 5 announcement. There are still many feeling skeptical as to whether the new device will be that of the iPhone 5 or just a revamped version of the current iPhone 4, with a name of the iPhone 4S.

Presently, its difficult to even give our predictions as to what the specifications will include, without actually knowing what handset(s) will arrive. As expected, the rumor mill is in full swing at the moment with news of not just the specs, but of carriers and what the price may be.

Just a matter of weeks ago, we gave you news that US carrier Sprint were likely to be running with the new Apple iPhone 5 and were thinking of introducing a new unlimited data plan. With Verizon and AT&T no doubt rivalling that of Sprint and news that T-Mobile are completely out of the picture until 2012, we have some more updated news to bring you.

According to David Murphy over at pcmag.com, thanks to retailer RadioShack, evidence is strongly pointing to Sprint being released with the new iPhone 5 with an announcement of this on October 4th. This comes as leaked images have been seen on what looks to be RadioShack’s internal inventory page.

Listed as you see above, are models for a 16GB and 32GB iPhone 5 across all three listed carriers. Sprint’s advantage over Verizon and AT&T will of course be the unlimited data plans which the latter two miss out on with their offer of tiered plans.

Along with this news, what interested us is talk of the iPhone 4S, dubbed a lower ended model to that of the fifth gen in terms of specs and price. The 4S is rumored to appeal to a much wider audience in terms of price. New evidence of the supposed 4S which unfortunately has been taken away from Apple, suggested that a new language was positioned inside a beta iTunes release with an image of a CDMA iPhone 4.

What are your thoughts on the two in question? Are we taking it for granted that an iPhone 5 will arrive and maybe its just the 4S that will show up? Perhaps Apple will be announcing two handsets? Let us know what you hoping for and keep an eye out for further news leading up the event and of course updates from us on the day.
