If you had to pay for Facebook, would you move to Google+?

The rumors have been circulating around Facebook especially since the F8 conference as we have pointed out in a previous article. But something we want to know from all of you, if you had to pay to use Facebook, would you move to Google+ or would you cough up the cash and carry on using Facebook?

You may have seen on a number of your friend’s Facebook status that Mark Zuckerberg and his minions will start charging but as far as things stand that won’t be happening, at least for now that is as they say on the official Facebook page. You can also see the same message that they have put out there in the image below.

As we all know, Google+ has been becoming more and more popular over time and now that it has come out of its beta stages, we expect that the growth will continue at an accelerated rate. On Google’s main search page, they even added a large arrow pointing to the top left hand corner which will undoubtedly attract more attention and direct people to sign up to their own social network.

When you think that Facebook has a following of more than 800 million people, all of which are constantly using their services, you really can’t see them jeopardizing their following with Google+ lurking. One of the massive things that Facebook is used for is advertising by companies great and small. It has become one of the necessary things that all companies should have as they can greatly extend their client base, make them better known and Facebook gets the same publicity… All in all, a great way of doing business!

If Facebook were to start charging for use of its services, would you jump over to Google+? Have you already left Facebook for Google+? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.

I’ve already moved over to Google+ where I’m enjoying meaningful conversations with interesting people on a wide variety of subjects, neatly organized in separate circles. What’s not to like?

I think I’d jump ship the minute they announce they will be charging for their services. They have a lot of people on board because it’s free. I wonder if most of the people will have the same sentiments?
