US T-Mobile Galaxy S II: September 26th Event

Even though Samsung’s popular Galaxy S II smartphone officially arrived some two or so months ago, the news hasn’t ceased. Many have said that the new addition to Samsung’s range is the one to beat and with more devices on their way in the coming weeks, we’ve asked whether Samsung can hold onto global domination?

In the last few days, news is hotting up regarding Apple’s new iPhone 5, with a media event expected to take place on October 4th when we can at last see the new refreshed version. It is still unclear as to whether the one handset will launch or two, that of the iPhone 4S.

Coming back to the Samsung Galaxy S II and its appearance in America. Up until a week ago, US consumers were unable to purchase the handset on three different carriers, that of Sprint, AT&T and T-Mobile. Each with different names and slightly varying specifications, all had/have been kept under wraps into now.

Sprint have already released their Epic 4G Touch as its known and yesterday, we gave you news that AT&T were intending to bring out their model the Attain on October 2nd. We can now follow this up with an rumored event scheduled to take place on Monday September 26th in the evening, in which T-Mobile will be announcing their phone.

According to Ubergizmo, the new Galaxy S II X as we believe it to be called, is expected to arrive with a bigger 4.5-inch Super Amoled Plus display compared to the global Galaxy S II. Processor is rumored to be a 1.5GHz dual-core, the benefit of downloading apps and streaming videos with impressive 4G download speeds up to 42 Mbps, WiFi, recording videos in 1080p HD, 8 megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 4x digital zoom, 2 megapixel to the front, TouchWiz user interface, Google Maps navigation, over 200,000 free and paid apps and so on.

Just the other day here at OSM, we told you that the new Galaxy S II X was listed as coming to Canadian carrier Telus with a new sign up page made available for consumers. In relation to price, we have nothing concrete to give you, but if we just base it on AT&T’s prices to give you an idea, for a stand-alone their Attain is retailing for $549.99 with a two-year contract set up for $199.99 with a minimum monthly figure of $15.

Let us know if you have been waiting for the new US Galaxy S II on T-Mobile? Or have you opted to go with Sprint or even AT&T when it arrives?
