Apple iPhone 4S Revised To Arrive 21st October?

Apple’s new iPhone 5 handset is expected to now launch on October 4th in a scheduled media event, to take place in San Francisco, of course when the time comes we will be hot on the trail of any updates. If the new Apple addition gets announced on that day, it will end months and months of speculation as to its specifications, appearance, price structure, name and of course release.

We know many of you have been waiting patiently for the new arrival, even though at times you may have been tempted to fall into the arms of another brand, such as Samsung, Motorola or even HTC each having some impressive devices to offer.

Despite many of us reporting on the event date of October 4th which coincidentally is rumored to be led by Apple’s CEO Tim Cook, other sources still believe that the iPhone 5 will not be coming next month, but the more acceptable iPhone 4S in terms of affordability will launch on 21st October. This would tie in with posts we’ve given you, just yesterday our very own Matt reported that Ex Vice President Al Gore may have slipped up recently, with Gore using the plural iPhones to arrive. Also about a week ago, to safeguard themselves in terms of numbers, Apple’s parts team were making in the region of 150,000 handsets on a daily basis to make sure that there will be enough handsets to go around, this partnered with news that production for the iPhone 5 had hit problems.

Doubt has surfaced from DigitialLife that are putting their money on the iPhone 4S arriving and not the fifth generation that so many of you really want now. A year down the line from its predecessors release and the way the current market is in terms of new announced smartphones, Apple really do need to bring out something new and exciting, perhaps an “improved version” of the current model may not be enough!

According to Pocketlint, analyst Brian Blair from Wedge Partners seems to be thinking along the same lines as DigitalLife. In a statement to his investors it was reported that he said, “We expect the focus of the new iPhone will be iOS 5, a speedier A5 processor and a higher resolution 8 MP camera with a small possibility of a larger 4 inch screen. We believe the casing will be largely similar to the iPhone with some particular modifications to the antennae [sic]. We don’t expect a second, dramatically different iPhone to accompany this as we don’t think Apple needs to have 3 models in the market to address the high end, mid-tier and low end since the iPhone 4 (with memory lowered to 8 GB) will drop to $99 and effectively attack those markets.”

With so much speculation surrounding Apple’s new addition(s), its a job to know what to believe, let’s hope we haven’t got too much longer to wait now.

Do you believe the iPhone 5 is coming? Are you an avid Apple fan? What are you hoping to hear from October 4th, would you be tempted by the 4S or are you going the whole hog and opting for the iPhone 5?
