If you’re in the market for a new mobile phone but are confused as to the amount of devices on offer, then this next piece of news may either help or hinder in your decision. We say this because we may be about to make your dilemma even harder. Manufacturer HTC are about to bring out a new handset by the name of the HTC Rhyme, formerly known as the Bliss.
Looking like its aimed towards a female market, although this isn’t the intention, the new HTC addition will release sometime next month in Europe and Asia, but with a different colour. Although the phone itself doesn’t stand up to other HTC’s rumored to be releasing such as the Amaze 4G, Runnymede, Sensation XE, Holiday and so on, the handset’s specifications are still worth taking note of.
Including a 3.7-inch WVGA screen, the Rhyme will release with a 1GHz Qualcomm processor but of a single core, 4GB of internal memory but with the benefit of expansion, connectivity with WiFi and Bluetooth, Android 2.3 Gingerbread, rumored Sense 3.5 user interface, 5 megapixel rear camera and VGA to the front.
But what sets this handset apart from others, is that it will come already with accessories for a fairly hefty price of $199 (this could still change) on a two-year data plan. An optional extra is that of a Charm Indicator which will remind you that you are receiving a phone call, this comes as Engadget reported, a purple bubble that lights up letting you know you have an incoming call. Other accessories include that of a wireless dashboard speaker for your vehicle, a workout armband, dock that converts your Rhyme into an alarm clock and Bluetooth headset.
On the big red carrier Verizon, the purple Rhyme will be supported by 3G, as for its release in other parts of the world, the handset could launch with a different name of the “Hourglass.” Although the device isn’t rumored to arrive until just over a week’s time on September 29th, pre-orders can be set up from the 22nd.
News from cnet.co.uk has reported that the Rhyme or different name change will be ready on October 17th on UK’s O2.
UPDATE: Retailer Target will be allowing customers to pre-order the Rhyme from 21st September, that’s tomorrow until 26th September, in time for its official launch of the 29th.
Give us your thoughts on the new HTC Rhyme? Do you feel its a tad bit expensive or would you be prepared to pay out? Does the color put you off?
