Nintendo Will Bring 3D Video Capture To 3DS: Still Struggling

Nintendo’s 3DS is still having a real hard time, even after they slashed its price. The Japanese tech giants are now looking to boost the product and its sales even more by introducing 3D video recording to it. The handheld device has struggled to make a real impact on the gaming market since its launch earlier this year, are fresh features what it needs to establish itself?

Nintendo announced the intention to add 3D video recording at their conference at the Tokyo Game Show. Despite this announcement, Nintendo’s investors are still not happy and are not convinced with the 3DS. According to Tech Radar, new 3D games were announced in the form of Monster Hunter 4, Mario Tennis 3DS and Fire Emblem. Future releases include huge titles like Super Mario, Mario Kart and Legend of Zelda, all of which have been massively successful franchises thus far. Unfortunately for gamers, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will not be coming to the 3DS. Will more popular games inspire more people to buy the console?

The glasses free gaming device is one of the first of its kind and disappointed as a result of its dodgy visuals which hurt the eyes after a while. Gamer Rant reports that Nintendo are looking to add the new feature to the lackluster 3DS in the near future. Will the stereoscopic shooting be positive for the gaming outfit? It seems like a good additional feature to have, but for me it is not something that will warrant a mass sell out. It will increase costs for Nintendo, putting more pressure on them to sell more games.

Nintendo know that they have not lived up to what has been expected of them with the 3DS so far and have vowed to improve. “We will make an all-out effort to see that the 3DS sells enough to become the successor to the DS.” The Japanese firm are currently losing money on each 3DS console they sell now as a consequence of their price cuts; more to be lost with the recording addition. The real money for them is made on games and accessories which is why it is important for them to get new content out on the market. When 3D video capture is introduced, will it have any major impact?
