Verizon Motorola Droid Bionic: Verified September 8th

As we enter into the month of September and the battle of smartphone supremacy rages on, yet more news has filtered through just today in relation to the new Droid Bionic from Motorola. With months of waiting, subsequent delays, changes in the specs listing and so on, the Bionic being carried by the big red Verizon is nearly here.

Ok, so there are many other smartphones already on retailer shelves and some impressive handsets on the way, but its the level of interest for the Motorola that’s been apparent for quite some time. The Bionic will launch with some great features and particularly in the US, the Motorola will have a head start over the Samsung Galaxy S II and Apple’s iPhone 5 when it eventually arrives.

A rumored release date for the Bionic was circling on or around September 8th, that’s just a matter of days away, but according to ibtimes.com this morning, Verizon have now officially confirmed the above date via their Twitter page. Along with this, its been reported that a ibtimes reader went into their Verizon store and was informed that they could indeed order their Bionic now with a delivery to their home address on September 8th. Interestingly as Phones Review stated via Phone Arena, some launch kits including handsets that can be demoed are starting to make their way to a handful of Verizon stores, along with some retailers receiving their first batches of the impressive handset.

Just recently we gave you news that an advertisement named “Conquer All Machines” had surfaced and this too incorporates the very date of “2011.9.8.”

Check out some of our previous posts in which we’ve compared the Droid Bionic to handsets such as the Samsung Galaxy S II, iPhone 5, the possible HTC Vigor or take a look at a post we recently submitted which outlined a “Tips and Tricks” manual showing more leaked specs and features. From what we know so far, the rumored Bionic specs include a 4.3-inch qHd display, 1GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory with the addition of a 16GB microSD card, 8MP rear camera and VGA to the front running on Android’s 2.3.4 Gingerbread OS.

Tell us where you stand with the new Verizon Motorola Droid Bionic? Have you been patiently waiting or did you end up opting for something else?

Personally I’m rather saddened that Verizon seems to have us over a barrel. I so wanted that Galaxy SII. Maybe have just keep waiting now for more spectaculars expected in the next month or two.
