Galaxy S II Pre-Orders Sprint Epic 4G Touch: $149.99 Deal

Last week we gave you plenty of exciting news from the Samsung event in New York for the launch of the U.S. Galaxy S II (S2). At last we received official confirmation of its impending arrival on Sprint, T-Mobile and AT&T with the news that the first carrier to release this notable smartphone would be Sprint with its variant the Epic 4G Touch. Today we can give you details about pre-orders and about a great offer at present from Wirefly.

We’ve already given you official details about all the carrier variants including prices and release dates where known, and also gave news on accessories and then details on performance tests, which were pretty impressive. If you’ve decided the Galaxy S II is the phone for you, despite its rather late entrance stateside, then if you want to be among the first to get your hands on it you’ll need to head to Sprint. It’s variant is called the Epic 4G Touch and it has a 4.5-inch display as opposed to the 4.3-inch on the standard Galaxy S II. Other specs include a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 8-megapixel rear camera with 1080p video recording, 4G WiMAX support and all running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

The release date for the Sprint Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch is September 16 with a price of $199.99 on the usual two-year contract and news that pre-orders are now available through Wirefly comes to us from Francis Rey over on Social Barrel. As we already informed you the standard price on contract will be $199.99 but at present Wirefly is offering a deal for the Epic 4G Touch with a price of only $149.99 on a new Sprint two-year account. That’s a pretty hefty saving and makes an already decent smartphone even more appealing. If you want to check out the offer head to the Wirefly link above.

As Samuel Miller of Gizmo Crunch points out, there’s also free shipping included in the Wirefly offer so if the Epic 4G Touch on Sprint is for you then it may well be worth your while to pre-order now to take advantage of the deal while it lasts. We’re interested to hear your thoughts on the Galaxy S II in the U.S. Maybe you got tired of waiting or perhaps you’re heading out on September 16 to get your hands on the Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch on Sprint? Will you pre-order? Let us know with your comments.
