White Samsung Galaxy S II Launches In UK: O2, Orange & Three

Talk about the Samsung Galaxy S II has been rife over the last few days. Earlier it was announced that it would finally launch in the US on September 16th with LTE, today it launches in the UK in white! The only change to the smartphone is the color, the hardware is the same and it will run on Android 2.3 just like its darker brother.

Here in the UK we have had Samsung’s 2nd Galaxy handset for some months now, but a white version is one that many were waiting for. As usual there was a delay for some reason and now a few months later than expected it is here. The white Galaxy will be offered by providers Orange, O2 and Three according to Cnet UK. The flagship phone first launched in May and has proved one of the more popular and successful Android devices.

The gorgeous light skin with the phone’s 4.3-inch super AMOLED Plus screen makes for attractive viewing. The Galaxy S II also comes packed with an LED flash 8 megapixel camera which can also record video in 1080p HD quality. The handset is powered by a dual-core 1.2GHz processor and runs on Gingerbread as we mentioned earlier. The Galaxy’s greatest feature is its screen size and quality with some of the most vibrant and bright colors ever seen on a mobile device.

Samsung’s UK managing director Simon Stanford has said this release will bring more elegance to the mobile. He went on to say that the Galaxy has already a been a hit with Samsung consumers and that he is pleased the company is able to offer a broad range of products to suit different people. The fact that Samsung can offer a leading smartphone in either black or white is one that delights him, according to Metro.

The black version of the smartphone will launch again over in the US for the first time in just over 2 weeks. The Samsung Galaxy S II offered by Sprint will be called the Epic 4G Touch. This gives it a close launch date to the iPhone 5 which is now expected to be launched in early October, specifically the 9th for New Zealand apparently coming from Apple sources.
