New LinkedIn iPhone & Android App: Your Thoughts?

These days as we all have smartphones there’s a real need for apps and that’s one of the main reasons behind the success of Apple in the early days and now Android. If Google Android didn’t have the app store behind it then we don’t think that all of the manufacturers would have been on board in the way they are, now we have heard about a new version of the LinkedIn iPhone and Android app and want your thoughts on it.

Compared to the old version of it on the iPhone 4, it’s clean, crisp and working very nicely. LinkedIn has done well in identifying the fact that most businesses these days are using smartphones as well as the fact that the majority of them are using apps and utilizing them in their day. The social network for professionals is being used more and more as people are using it to communicate with colleagues, ex-colleagues, bosses and potential employees.

Already we can tell that the app is amazingly quicker than it was previously, eWeek’s author Clint Boulton says it’s 2-10 times faster than the prior version. The app has been entirely redesigned, its predecessor is completely unrecognizable in comparison but personally I like it! Below you can see the main dashboard and when you click into one of the sections, the LinkedIn logo along the top becomes your back button.

The best thing we can recommend for users is to download the new app and have a play around with it; the app is just such a massive improvement on the previous version. We would also like to point you in the direction of the LinkedIn blog where you can learn more about the changes. There’s also a video at the bottom of the article where the changes are explained fully.

What do you think of the new LinkedIn app? Has it made things easier for you? Let us know in the comments section below.

Like that they incorporated the groups function but still cant manage the people in the group and functionality limited to just posting. Still, huge improvement on the previous version. Found one or 2 issues where it keeps refreshing the last message you receive in your inbox and marks it as unread everytime you refresh the screen.
