Droid Bionic Enthralling New Leaked Shots: Droid HD in the Mix

Regular readers of OSM will have noted our enthusiasm for the upcoming Motorola Droid Bionic. If it seems that we’ve written a lot of posts now on the Bionic it’s because we have and let’s face it the length of time we’ve waited for it means there’s been plenty to report. Recently we gave you news about some leaked photos of the Droid Bionic and today we have yet more enthralling leaked images, which are very clear and also adds the Droid HD to the mix.

Two days ago we told of further intrigue to come about the Droid Bionic, with Motorola suggesting there was more to be revealed and we also included the Bionic in our article about the iPhone 5’s main rivals. Today’s new photos of the Bionic also include a handset we didn’t expect to see, the Droid HD. These are certainly the clearest images we’ve seen of the Bionic so far and the shots of the Droid HD are a big bonus. The images come to us from Amar Toor over on Engadget where you will also be able to see many more photos.

There’s nothing further to add about the Bionic from the images and it still looks as though it will have the 8-megapixel camera, 1GB of RAM and 1GHz dual-core processor we were expecting. It also looks set to be a global handset and Engadget states that the processor is the Texas Instruments OMAP 4430, which was also rumored. The Droid HD though is new to us and pretty fascinating to see. It appears to be running Android Gingerbread and what looks like a 4.5-inch display, probably qHD to tally with the name, and an 8-megapixel 1080p rear camera. Rumored specs also include a front-facer and microUSB and HDMI ports. Camera capabilities also include LED flash and speaker.

The Droid HD also appears to have side loading SIM along with MicroSD slots on the left while the right appears to bear a power button and volume rocker. We recently told how some have complained the Droid Bionic was too thick after recent leaks emerged, although we thought it was still looking good. However, the Droid HD is a superslim design, which Engadget reckons to be around the same thinness as the Galaxy S II and appears to have a large and also thin removable battery.

If you enjoyed our recent photos of the Droid Bionic showing fast speed tests another image of that has also emerged which you can check out at Phandroid. It looks to be exciting times ahead then with the release of the Droid Bionic expected early next month, and also the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S II and Apple iPhone 5 on the way. Many were already struggling to choose which smartphone they might opt for and now the Droid HD is yet another to add to the mix. Are you still waiting for the Droid Bionic or will these images of the Droid HD make you think again? Send us your comments to let us know.
