HTC Holiday Prototype Spotted While Ruby Details Are Leaked

We are all looking around the web for the next big smartphone with many people tipping the Motorola Droid Bionic and the Apple iPhone 5 to be amongst them. Now we have heard some exciting things about HTC and a prototype of the HTC Holiday as well as details of the HTC Ruby being leaked.

We actually first heard about the HTC Holiday back in May when the specs were leaked and it made potential Samsung Infuse buyers hold back. We found out about the prototype with a hideous sticker on it that says “CALIFORNIA” implying that it’s going to be a US release or that someone really likes stickers and the report from Slashgear’s Chris Burns. The specs that we previously reported pretty much match up as well.

So far we know the device will have a 4.5qHD touchscreen display at a resolution of 960×540, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, a 1.3 megapixel front facing camera and an 8 megapixel rear facing camera. As OSM’s Debbie Turner mentioned previously, there’s a strong possibility that the device will be on AT&T. There’s another feature that we didn’t know about which is a charging panel on the back. This means you will be able to plug the charger into the wall and then place the device on your desk for it to charge (presumably).

Now we come to something else rather intriguing from HTC and that is their potentially new device, the HTC Ruby. Over at tmonews.com, managing editor David has revealed some nice specs and a few better images of the device than we have seen before. Firstly, the specifications according to a ninja source of TMoNews look like this… a 4.3-inch qHD display, an astonishing 1.5GHz dual-core processor, Bluetooth 3.0 and 1GB of RAM. Not only that but it has a front facing 2 megapixel camera and a rear facing 8 megapixel camera with its own video and camera buttons separately.

From the above image you can see the start of the T-Mobile logo which edges us towards thinking this will be the carrier, although they may choose to have it on multiple ones for better revenue. This is certainly putting further pressure on devices such as the iPhone 5 to be released sooner rather than later as if this bad boy was being released tomorrow, let’s just say I think it would clean house!

What do you think of the two devices? Are either of these your future smartphones? Let us know in the comments section below.
