FB Scam: WIN 800 FV CASH and 50,000,00 COINS FREE!

We all know that Facebook is becoming pretty cluttered with all sorts of different scams such as the apparent free tickets to Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 2 and the scam about Lil Wayne nearly parting company with the world from a car crash. Now we have another FB Scam it’s titled “WIN 800 FV CASH and 50,000,00 COINS FREE!” You can see what it looks like below.

When you click on the above image from your wall you will be directed to what looks like a Facebook event with some instructions for you to get those coins you were after. The first thing they ask you to do is hit the share button, this ensures that the scam hits everyone else. The second is to click on “Im Attending” as shown on the page and then to invite ALL of your friends to it too. The last thing they try to get you to do is click on a link.

If you have been unfortunate enough to have clicked on the link from the above image then you will be directed to a rogue Facebook application, which is asking you to allow it access to various things. As informed by the guys at Facecrooks, check out the things they are asking for, they are all permission settings so that they can try and continue the spread of their dirt. There’s also a great bit of advice that we want to share with you, only install apps from well-known and trusted sources otherwise your data could be compromised. Now, you may be wondering just why the scammers would be doing this as there doesn’t seem to be anything that they can make any money from. If you go ahead and install the app, you get to the point that the crooks have been trying to get to and that is a survey scam, which you can see below.

Of course, if you have already gone ahead with this scam then you will want to know how to get rid of it. The first thing you need to do is locate it on your Facebook wall and click on the “X” in the upper right hand corner of the wall post and select “Report Post or Spam.” You can also follow our guide on how to remove any other unwanted malware or unwanted liked pages. If you have followed through an installed the app as well then you need to take a slightly further measure. You will need to go to Account, and then select Account Settings from the list. When you are at that point, look on the left hand side of the screen, you should see Applications and click on it. When you do you should find the new rogue application installed under the name “Peace Rally,” hit the “X” and select remove as shown below.
