Latest FB Scam: [Video] OSLO Security Camera Captures Blast!

It seems that almost every day there seems to be another Facebook Scam to report lately and many people are being caught out by these global scams that circulate through social networking. These scams are always bad enough but the latest of these FB scam’s exploits human misery and suffering as it uses the recent attacks in Norway where dozens of people have been killed and uses the message “[Video] OSLO Security Camera Captures Blast!”

Other Facebook scams that our own Tim Ollason has told you about lately include, “Her life is over because of this crazy video,” “Fan dies after fall at Rangers Game [Video],” and “OMG! A spider under the skin!” However this latest scam centering on a real human tragedy is pretty disgusting. News of the Oslo bombing Facebook scam came to us from Charlie White over on Mashable and tells how a phony post alleges to link to a video from a security camera in Oslo showing the blast that led to several people being killed.

Although there may be a security video that could have captured the blast it’s certainly not known of so far so if you see the link shown below don’t click on it but instead delete it from your feed. You should then report it to Facebook security. It’s certainly catching a lot of people out though as Help Net Security say that one user every second is being infected by this Oslo scam. Sophos tells what happens if you do click on the link and it will take you off the site to a fake video player. You’ll then be asked to complete a survey and then take an IQ test and following that be asked for your mobile number. This is the really nasty bit. Giving that information will then see you subjected to trivia questions four times a week that will cost you $2 a time.

It does seem sadly as though more and more people are becoming victims of these scams despite widespread reporting of them. If you want further help on how to clear up your Facebook profile if you’ve been a victim of a scam hit the link above. We’d like to hear your views on this latest Facebook scam and just how low these scammers will go to lure people into their latest hoax? Have you already been caught out by the Oslo Video FB scam?
