Google+ Users: 20 Million By The Weekend!

As many of our regular readers are aware we love to report on the latest news for the social networks including LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and of course the new one that everyone is talking about, Google+. Now we are hearing that the number of Google+ users should reach 20 million by the weekend which is pretty impressive.

We have been keeping up to date with the things happening with the latest social networking sensation and already we have seen it go past 10 million users, then it went past 18 million yesterday and now it’s predicted to be at 20 million by the weekend! We are still in amazement at the progress that Google+ is managing to make whilst it is in the beta stages.

If you stop and think about things for a second, Google+ is currently invitation only and for 18-years and over and still it’s one of the fastest growing social networks ever. We think that Google has its sights set on the other social networks such as Twitter and Facebook where they will look to overtake them. Twitter currently has around 200 million users and Facebook has around 600 million.

The problems that people currently have with Facebook are that they keep changing things and not necessarily in a good way. Take Facebook Chat for example, they are seriously jeopardizing their relationship with their users by offering such a poor update. Facebook’s chat functionality pretty much says “we know you better than you do.” They are displaying the people that you are in communication with most regularly or apparently are, when I checked this out I had people appearing that I have on Facebook and never actually talked to in any capacity!

We learned of the most recent figure that Google+ is approaching through an article over on Geeky-Gadgets.com where their author Roland Hutchinson has added an article. He talks about how the figures are impressive for a new social network and that Google+ is already more popular than some of Google’s previous efforts. He has also pointed us all to an article that was written by Paul Allen. You can check out all the figures by heading over and reading through his article on this link.

Different reports seem to be showing similar figures including the guys over on Ubergizmo and Pascal Emmanuel Gobry of BusinessInsider. It looks like we will hit 20 million Google+ users this weekend but the big question is, when will we hit 30 million? We think within the next week and a half to two weeks.
