FB Survey Scam: who had blocked you ?

Regular readers will know that all of us at OSM have a passion for social networking especially around the big ones such as Twitter, Facebook and the new Google+. One of them in particular seems to be over and over again with different types of scam and that network is Facebook. The latest FB scam that we have seen go viral is “who had blocked you ?”

The majority of the scams we have previously reported are found when people have become a victim to the scam and it posts automatically on our friend’s wall saying they liked it. The liking part is to make you guys think that because your friend has liked it that it’s safe. This is an attitude that we are trying to change.

The latest scam is slightly different; it claims to be able to tell you which of your previous Facebook friends have deleted and blocked you. It comes in the form of an image saying that you were tagged in album; this is stage 1 of the scam… Suckering you in. You can see what it looks like below.

Once you click on it you are directed to a Photo Album of the person sending out the scam as informed by Facecrooks.com. On the album you will find a huge list of friends who have been targeted by the scam, as you all know when you are tagged in a photo you receive a notification. Check out what it looks like below.

You can see the goal of the scammers is to try and get you to click on the link where it says “check who had blocked or removed you from his friend list at : [LINK]” but when you click on it you will load the survey scam. You should never enter your personal details into these scams as you can become a victim of so much more than a simple Facebook scam.

Of course if you have already gone through with this scam then you will need to know how to get rid of it, the bad news is that you will never really remove it until Facebook comes up with a way but there’s a number of protective measures that are explained over on Facecrooks.com. They are quite extreme but at this moment in time, until Facebook finds a way of removing it they are perhaps necessary.
