FB Scam: Leaked Video of Casey Anthony CONFESSING to Lawyer!

At OSM we have recently been trying hard to keep you all up to date with the latest in the world of Facebook scams, so far we have seen lots of different ones circulating including an extremely viral one titled “this girl will never forget to turn her webcam of again” using suggestive images to lure you in. Now there’s another FB cam going around, it’s titled “BREAKING NEWS – Leaked Video of Casey Anthony CONFESSING to Lawyer!” You can see the Facebook wall post below.

Of course this relates to a massive talking point at the moment of the Casey Anthony trial where she may or may not have killed her daughter. Unfortunately this is how these scammers roll, they look at different things happening around the world and then try to use it to their advantage to earn money through commission of making people view their scams. We have joined the fight to put a stop to this and try to keep our beloved social network clean. If you have clicked on the above image then you will have been directed to another page which you can see below.

This is designed to make it look as if you are still on Facebook with an embedded video in the background. Now what you will notice from the screenshot is they are looking for some kind of age verification, again this is part of the scam to try and deceive you into clicking on the button. This is the valuable user input that they so require to actually load the scam, after all, if it said “please click here to load the scam” you wouldn’t click it would you? Instead this one is asking to conform that you are over the age of 13 and if you are to click on the “Jaa” button twice. If alarm bells aren’t ringing yet then they should be! When have you ever seen Facebook use a button with the label “Jaa”? Anyway, when you click on it you are directed to yet another page which is shown beneath.

What you may not realize is that by clicking on that button you have just shared this scam and helped it spread to all of your Facebook friends. Not only that but it has thrown up the Facebook survey scam as informed by the guys at Facecrooks.com who have advised us many times in the past not to fill these in. What the scammers really want from this is your personal details, they can then use these in a number of ways so if you filled in these details keep an eye on your personal things such as your phone bill for example for any bogus charges.

If you have been unfortunate enough to have gone all the way through with this scam then you will need to put an end to it quickly. The first thing you need to do is locate the actual wall post on your Facebook profile and then hit the “X” in the upper right hand corner of the post and then from the drop down menu select “Report Post / Spam.” You can also check out our guide that will help you with the next steps as well as following the advice from Facecrooks.com.
