LG Optimus 3D / Thrill 4G: Carphone Warehouse Price & Carriers

The smartphone world is being currently dominated by two particular models; they are the Apple iPhone 4 and the Samsung Galaxy S II. This isn’t stopping other manufacturers from releasing their own devices though, now we have heard the LG Optimus 3D / Thrill 4G has been given a handset only price with the carriers you can get it on in the UK through Carphone Warehouse.

This is LG’s new flagship device that we have written reports about on a number of occasions, it was only a matter of time until we heard its UK handset only price. We learned of it through an article over on Engadget by Christopher Trout who talks a little about the glassesless Froyo phone.

If you want buy the device outright, SIM free then it is going to make a significant dent in your wallet of £500 through Carphone Warehouse. The device has been compared to all sorts including the HTC EVO 3D which is pretty much a direct comparison as they are aimed at the same audience, but many people are more likely to go with something like the Samsung Galaxy S II.

Whilst £500 is the overall price of the phone it’s worth noting that for £35 pcm you can get the phone for free on a range of 24 month contracts. There are currently four carriers offering the device which include O2, T-Mobile, Vodafone and Orange. The guys that have added the device to the website have even been kind enough to list its features and a product overview explaining that you can switch between 2D and 3D.

In the handheld gaming world it doesn’t look as if the Nintendo 3DS is doing too well and this is the first to include a 3D screen. The thing is there’s no getting away from it, 3D is perhaps going to take over. You only have to look at the way your local cinema movies are moving towards it and the number of films that are currently taking advantage of it. The idea of 3D is one of the things that puts people off a little but that is until they actually experience it for themselves, 3D movies and 3D televisions are certainly growing in popularity as a number of the top retailers stock them more and more.

The LG Optimus has the potential to be a big seller so long as they can convince everyone that the 3D concept is good and the way forward. This device boasts some impressive specifications that are explained over on the official LG website which you can check out by clicking here.
