Confirmed Motorola Droid 3 Release Date, Manual & Accessories

We’ve been bringing you news of the Motorola Droid 3 phone for some time and recently told how the release was likely to be close after it appeared on the Verizon MAP system, news of a likely release date of July 7 and then July 14, some benchmark test results that were pretty impressive and also most recently some more specs leaks. Today we have confirmation on the release date plus details of the manual being available and further news on accessories for the Droid 3.

We were previously a bit confused over the fact that we’d heard two different release dates for this Android 2.3 Gingerbread handset but now this uncertainty seems to have been cleared up by Kellex over on Droid-Life. It seems that both dates are in fact accurate as per Verizon material with all the details. July 7 has been confirmed as the date that the Motorola Droid 3 on Verizon goes on sale via direct fill (or shipping) while July 14 is the date that it will receive a Verizon exclusive mass rollout to stores. Also confirmed are the 5-row QWERTY keyboard, 4-inch qHD display, dual-core processor, 16GB of internal storage, rear and front-facing cameras, and no 4G LTE capability, as we previously reported. This release news was further backed up with another leaked Verizon image, also courtesy of Droid-Life.

On top of this if you want to know much more about the Motorola Droid 3, or simply want to get ahead of the game and read up on it before you can get your hands on it, then another article on Droid-Life tells how the Droid 3 user guide is now available. You can download the manual as a pdf at the link here. Another item that Droid-Life has managed to help us out with is news of Droid 3 accessories. Another article here shows images of various accessories such as snap-on cases and screen covers.

Meanwhile Jerry Hildenbrand of Android Central also brings news of Motorola Droid 3 accessories from a leaked inventory list. The list which you can see above, includes items such as an inductive charging battery door, a multimedia dock, car dock, 1930aMh extended battery, pouches, hard covers in blue and purple and also silicone snap-ons in black and pink. It’s likely then that accessories will be available for the Droid 3 from the release date.

Are you intending to purchase the Droid 3 on Verizon, especially as it has beaten the Motorola Droid Bionic to release (although the Bionic will have 4G LTE)? Your decision may be made harder if I remind you of our earlier story today reporting that a handset thought to be the Droid Bionic has now cleared the FCC and is likely to be released soon. Let us know your thoughts by sending us your comments on this.
