War Horse YouTube Video Trailer: Prompts Twitter Response

Here at OSM we often bring you news of game or movie trailers, such as the new “Angry Birds Summer Pignic” trailer, a “Muppets” full trailer 2011 which has gone viral on YouTube and of course the much-awaited trailer for “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2.” Today we have news of a trailer for the movie “War Horse” along with the video to show you and it seems it’s already receiving a lot of Twitter attention.

For those of you who haven’t yet heard about it, “War Horse” is a new film from Steven Spielberg and it looks like it could be a majorly impressive movie. It’s based on a book by Michael Morpurgo and was also a hit stage play and the movie version will star newcomer Jeremy Irvine as Albert Narracott along with others such as Benedict Cumberbatch, Emily Watson and Eddie Marsan. It’s about a horse (unsurprisingly), which Albert finds and names Joey. He tames it from the wild and the pair is only separated when the horse is sent off to war in France in World War One, while Albert is still too young to join the forces. We can already spot the potential for a good weep and the trailer is certainly stirring stuff. You can see the YouTube video below this story.

According to Ann Lee over on Metro it’s the first movie since Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull that Spielberg has directed so there’s bound to be a huge amount of attention for it and Oscars are already being tipped. The music score for the movie is by John Williams and will likely be stirring and emotive stuff if previous scores of his are anything to go by. The movie is not due out until this Christmas but the trailer will certainly offer you a good taster of what’s to come and personally, I can’t wait.

Many movie enthusiasts have already taken to Twitter to give their thoughts on the trailer and like me, see the potential for a real tear-jerker. One fan said, “Oh great – War Horse is going to make me cry, isn’t it?” while another said, “The WAR HORSE trailer looks fantastic…made me want to cry and nothing sad actually happens! @clarebalding1 will be in bits #tissuealert.” No doubt there’ll be much more Twitter discussion about “War Horse” before it finally sees a release.
