SE Xperia Neo Finally Launches In UK After Delay

All of the recent smartphone talk has been about the HTC Evo 3D, but some are forgetting about the Xperia Neo which has just launched here in the UK.

Sony Ericsson’s smartphone was previously delayed as a result of the disastrous earthquake and tsunami in Japan, being pushed back to around July time. According to Geeky Gadgets the flagship phone was set for a April 19th release date in the UK, intended for the same time as its fellow Arc and Play models. Here we are now in June, but better late than never I suppose.

The starting price for the Neo is £342 with that figure going as high as £390 depending on your preference of memory capacity. Reports from 3G tell us that a red special edition version of the phone is available exclusively from Vodafone. The red Neo is listed on the coming soon page and has no official release date, but we imagine it cant be too far behind the original version.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread and packs features such as a 3.7 inch 854 x 480 pixels reality display, 1Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255 processor and 8.1 mega pixel camera that shoots HD video. The big delay may harm the Neo as phones such as the Evo 3D may steal ahead of it with additional features like 3D support. Can the Xperia Neo make a recover and challenge with the best, more importantly will you be buying it?
