Galaxy S2 Full Touch 4G on Sprint Rumor? Leaked Sprint Roadmap

One of the most awaited subjects at present is when the Samsung Galaxy S2 (S II) will finally make an appearance in the U.S. Recently we published a Galaxy S2 US rumor release roundup to keep readers up to date with all the latest and we now have a further snippet about a Samsung Galaxy S2 full touch 4G rumor on Sprint, stemming from a leaked Sprint roadmap.

The Galaxy S2 is a hugely impressive Android handset and we’ve published countless articles now on it. Most recently we took a look at a sales showdown between the Galaxy S2 and the upcoming Motorola Droid Bionic about which there is also some release confusion and also published a comparison with the HTC EVO 3D, just released on Sprint. In previous articles about a Sprint release for the Galaxy S2, where it will be named the Within, we told of an inside source suggesting a late July release and then had more news about a possible July 24 release date. However nothing has yet been confirmed so for now we must treat this as speculation.

Now we have heard of a leaked Sprint roadmap for Q3 and one of the items on it is a Samsung ‘full touch’ 4G device, according to Chris Ziegler over on This is my Next. It seems to us that this is very likely to be the Samsung Galaxy 2 and Ziegler agrees this is probably the case. There’s still no firm date available, just the vague Q3, but it does at least back up the claims that the Galaxy 2 is definitely coming to Sprint and hopefully will be sooner rather than later. Other devices to show up on the leaked Q3 Sprint roadmap include the Samsung Epic 2 and BlackBerry Bold Touch.

Over on Gotta Be Mobile, Adam Mills also reports on the likelihood that the ‘full touch 4G’ Samsung device is the Galaxy S II Within and points out that if, accurate, this means it will be going up against the Motorola Photon 4G and HTC EVO 3D for WiMAX top spot. Are you waiting for the Galaxy S2 to come to Sprint? What are your thoughts on this ‘full touch 4G’ device coming your way soon? Let us know with your comments.

If it does hit in July it’s goodbye Verizon, hello Sprint.

    Wiimax? Ugh…
    Wiimax in a nutshell:
High ping times, 120 to google? I get lower on my at&t 3g, most of this is because of Sprint’s bad routing, most of the time my pings go from Cali, to Texas, and then back.
Inconsistent data speeds, always lower than 8 mb/s, low 1.5 mb/s upload.

I just want them to roll out LTE, and I hope this phone has LTE on Sprint.
