New Apple iPod Touch Release Coming: Evidence Found In iOS 5.0

Apple are doing very well in pretty much all areas, their iPhone 4 is handset owned by many, the MacBook Air isn’t doing too badly and now we hear that there’s a new Apple iPod Touch coming. The release was hinted after there was evidence found in iOS 5.0.

We learned of the news through an entry over on iClarified where they have sourced iFans which is the original source who uploaded a screenshot where he stumbled across the fairplayd daemon which has appeared on the iPod Touch 4 with the iOS 5 beta 1.

As you can see from the above screenshot we have highlighted the area of interest, when you look towards the bottom of the box you will find “iPod4, 1” and “iPod4, 2” which as CultOfMac’s author says that there was no mention of the iPod touch when the new iOS was being shown off at WWDC 2011.

Of course the rumors of new specifications will now kick off with people saying what they want to see in it such as the A5 processor and an improved camera. I guess we will just have to wait and see what Apple comes up with in the not too distant future. The guys from the sources seem pretty clear that this is going to be a new version of the current iPod touch so perhaps we will simply see an upgraded version.
