HTC EVO 3D on Sprint Release: Best Buy Opening Early Friday

The HTC EVO 3D is almost upon us and we know many of you are waiting for this impressive Android handset coming to Sprint. We previously wrote about the EVO 3D and also the HTC Sensation being credible iPhone 5 alternatives and more recently gave you news of the release date as June 24 (tomorrow). Now we have news that Best Buy will be opening stores early for aspiring EVO 3D owners to get their hands on it.

We recently posted an article about the HTC EVO 3D vs. the LG Thrill (Optimus 3D) coming to AT&T and if you’d like a recap on specs for the EVO 3D then check it out at the link. The most notable though are a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, 4G connectivity, and a 4.3-inch qHD display. It runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread and a real selling point is of course the dual 5-megapixel 3D cameras.

Best Buy certainly feels that this handset is going to be a hit when it goes on sale tomorrow as we have received a press release from the company to say it’s celebrating the launch of the EVO 3D on Friday by opening early at 8am. Head of merchandising for Best Buy Mobile, Scott Anderson, said, “There has been a lot of excitement and interest in the HTC EVO 3D in our stores and we are happy to help bring it to market by opening our stores early on Friday. This is a big launch for us and our teams are prepared and focused to help customers get their new phones set up and personalized before they leave the store.”

The early opening time applies to all Best Buy big box stores carrying Sprint devices as well as some Best Buy Mobile standalone stores. The EVO 3D will go on sale with a price of $199 on the usual two-year contract. If you can’t get out you’ll be able to purchase the EVO 3D online at bestbuy.com/mobile. What are your thoughts on the HTC EVO 3D? Will you be getting up early tomorrow morning and heading down to Best Buy? Let us know with your comments.

Leaving AT&T to get this phone. We are ready to pick up 3 of them and enjoy the life of Android. The iPhone was cool at the start, but got old very fast. Flash, dual core processor and HTC Sense 3 was a huge deal for us getting this phone.
