Archos G9 Series Super Tablets: High Specs Low Price

When it comes to tablet PCs, there are always comparisons to the Apple devices which are the market leaders. What people often forget is that there’s an abundance of others running on Android which are just as good if not better. Now we have the Archos G9 series of super tablets, these have high specs and a low price… Exactly what the market needs!

Archos wasn’t joking when they said previously that there would be high end devices coming this summer. What may put people off is the brand of these new tablets, but if they look past it and check out the specs then they will be pleasantly surprised. There are two different models, the Archos 80 G9 and the Archos 101 G9. The only difference between the two of them is the screen size; the 80 G9 has an 8-inch touchscreen at a resolution of 1024 x 768, whilst the 101 G9 has a 10-inch touchscreen at 1280 x 800.

We learned of the devices through an article over on Phandroid where author Kevin Krause talks about some of the fantastic specifications found within both devices. You can expect to find dual-core OMAP 4 processor which is the 1.5GHz ARM Cortex A9 and it has a massive 250GB Seagate 7mm Momentus Thin HDD. These are fantastic specs but one area where there’s definitely going to be some question marks is the battery. How is it going to cope with the power hungry components that reside within the shiny shell? You can watch a video of both tablet PCs on this link that really shows them in a good light and you can read the press release here. As things stand the 80 G9 will cost $279 and the 101 G9 will set you back $349, not bad at all!
