Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray And Xperia Active: Coming Soon

Sony has been doing rather well with releasing new handsets with the Xperia line such as the Xperia X10 which we just found out will be getting Android Gingerbread in August. Now we have heard that the Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray and the Xperia Active are coming soon.

We learned of these two new devices through an article over on Geeky-Gadgets where Roland Hutchinson has compiled a report. He mentions that the Xperia Ray has a 3.3-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 854×480. Not only that but it has a powerful 8 megapixel camera meaning Sony Ericsson is getting back to what it was good at with the previous Cybershot line.

The other device that was mentioned is the Xperia Active; this device is dust proof and water resistant. It has a 3-inch touchscreen running at a resolution of 320×480. According to an article over on CNET they tried using wet fingers on the touchscreen and this worked fine which is pretty impressive.

There’s also been an update from Aloysius Low with some estimated prices, apparently the Xperia Ray will be priced around $470 to $486 but Sony Ericsson wouldn’t let on any details in terms of money for the Xperia Active although they did say it would be cheaper than the Ray.

Expect to see further details in the coming weeks but do let us know your initial thoughts in the comments section below.
