Samsung Galaxy S2 TV Smart View App: Download Available Now

We’ve been bringing you all the news about the Samsung Galaxy S2 (S II) Android smartphone and have to say it’s one of the most anticipated phones due for release in the U.S. shortly. Other regions of the world are already lucky enough to have this impressive handset and today’s news surrounds the Samsung Smart View app, which is available for download now.

Apart from the Galaxy S2 the other requirement for use with this app is a Samsung Smart TV, D7000 or D8000 series. OSM’s Maddy Rowe gave some details of the app at the beginning of the month and told how the Smart View app will allow you to stream wirelessly from your Smart TV to your handset. It’s also possible to stream from your phone to the TV too, which is a pretty nifty development.

The Smart View app will eventually come to other Samsung devices such as the Galaxy S, Galaxy Player and Galaxy Tab 10.1 but for now only the Galaxy S2 is compatible. According to Marc Chacksfield over on TechRadar, you don’t even have to watch the same channel on your handset as is currently showing on TV. The Marketing Director for TV at Samsung UK, Guy Kinnell, said, “Samsung Smart TV is leading the ‘smart revolution’ not only with the features of Smart TV itself – such as rich content, 2D and 3D picture quality, smart functions and design – but also with input devices using our Qwerty smart remote control, the Samsung Remote app, and now with Smart View.”

If you can’t wait to try it out then head to the Android Market here where the Smart View app is now ready and raring to go and best of all is free. For more on the Smart View app head to an article by Paul Lamkin over on Pocket-Lint, which informs further, “The app works with the Smart TV D7000 and D8000 series, and doesn’t just beam over the Smart Hub web app contents, this is the whole shebang. We’re talking TV, a Blu-ray, or even some of your own footage from your camera or other devices.”
