MyTouch 4G Slide Spot for T-Mobile: Clear Shots Show Style

Back in April we brought you some details about the myTouch 4G Slide coming to T-Mobile with some of the first specs available and then took a look at the Samsung Galaxy S2 vs. the myTouch 4G Slide on what we knew so far. Then at the beginning of this month we finally got our first look at the myTouch 4G Slide with leaked but rather blurry images available. However now we have some crystal clear shots that show a smartphone with a lot of style.

The more we see of this handset the more impressive it seems. Notable leaked specs include a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 4G connectivity for T-Mobile’s HSPA+ network, 8-megapixel rear camera and 3-megapixel front facer and a 3.7-inch WVGA LCD display. As a reminder we can tell you it will run on Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread with HTC Sense UI, includes a QWERTY keyboard and is rumored for release in the first half of July, with July 6 being mentioned more than once.

These new images are a real step up from the blurred images we saw previously and came courtesy of David over on TmoNews. The keyboard looks pretty smart and Tmo were told by their source that the “keyboard is amazing and the phone is surprisingly fast,” although the phone does weigh a little more than the G2, which has a similar feel of keyboard. We should also remind readers that this phone was previously referred to as the HTC Doubleshot so if you were waiting for more on that, this is it!

Meanwhile Phil Nickinson over on Android Central also discusses these images and informs that the myTouch 4G Slide has already passed through the FCC so hopefully it shouldn’t be too much longer until release. What are your thoughts on the myTouch 4G Slide? Does this dual-core smartphone impress and will you be purchasing it when launched? Let us know with your comments.
