Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Release: Operation iPad 2 Takedown

The world of the tablet PC is becoming more and more competitive by the day, the current market leaders are Apple with the iPad 2 as they were last year with their previous model but there are so many in the market now it’s unbelievable.

Android has literally come in and changed things, when you look at all the new tablet PCs that are entering the market the majority of them are Android OS based. Think about the two new ones from Sony that we recently saw in a teaser trailer, what about the Motorola Xoom and also today’s subject device the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 which is released today in an operation to takedown the iPad 2.

Samsung desperately wants to hit the top of the charts with their tablet PC but dislodging the ever stubborn Apple device from that top spot is a task that’s easier said than done. The price of the device is $499 for the 16GB and $599 for the 32GB which is very competitive as it matches the iPad 2.

We learned of this news through Slashgear’s Chris Burns where he tells us a whole host of different retailers that will be stocking the tablet. You can also read the full press release directly from Samsung’s backyard on this link.
