First Galaxy S2 North American Carrier: July Release

The Samsung Galaxy S2 running on Android’s 2.3 Gingerbread has already been in the spotlight for a little while now, and as much as its available in some countries now, the US is still waiting for its arrival. Rumor is pointing to a release date from Sprint sometime in July with no official word as of yet from Verizon, but that may be about to change with word of one retailer that is ready and waiting.

Just today we told you that some cases had been spotted on Amazon’s webpage indicating that the Galaxy S2 may arrive soon and according to Phones Review, one Canadian retailer “SaskTel” have taken to their Twitter page announcing that they will be selling the phone sometime next month.

They tweeted, “We will be launching the Samsung Galaxy S II device in the next month that has the dual-core ^KK.” As Engadget stated, SaskTel will be the first North American carrier to release the handset with others no doubt following in their footsteps.

Are you keeping everything crossed for a Galaxy S2 US release? Would you be prepared to go with SaskTel if its the first to release the phone?
