BlackBerry PlayBook 4G Delayed: The Door Open For iPad 3?

Research in Motion’s new BlackBerry PlayBook tablet set to be a stiff contender against the likes of Apple’s iPad, Motorola’s Xoom and Samsung’s Galaxy Tab has already released but just as a WiFi version. Unfortunately news has filtered through today that the 4G model that we know some of you have been waiting for, is looking like it may face a delay.

Although according to Slashgear the news has not been announced directly from RIM, a passing comment from Co-CEO Mike Lazaridis has insinuated that the PlayBook 4G will arrive sometime this fall, with two BlackBerry phones that of the 9930 and 9900.

As to which US carriers will run with the PlayBook still remains a mystery with the big red Verizon still appearing to be undecided. In the meantime, other devices are making their way to retailer shelves with news that Apple may be releasing a new iPad 3 with possible inclusions such as 3D, although we have to point out that this is just pure speculation.

With regards to the PlayBook we do know that the WiFi version will be released in another 16 countries such as Hong Kong, Australia, Germany, Mexico, France and so on. Just yesterday as reported, the new BlackBerry tablet is available in the UK now at retailers such as PC World, Carphone Warehouse, Phones4U and Currys.
