Yahoo! “AppSpot” iOS & Android App: Finds Those Appealing

Smartphones and apps go hand in hand these days with apps available for virtually any situation that you could possibly need. Through your Android or iOS device you can access your banking, Ebay, Facebook, Twitter and a multitude of other essential applications.

But as more and more apps become available the app stores are becoming increasingly packed, meaning that you may struggle to find what you are after or even miss something that you might need. This is where Yahoo! may be able to help with their latest idea which as Ubergizmo states, is available for computers, iOS and Android devices.

Named AppSpot, it helps users find what they are looking for via Yahoo!’s search and ranking system. This is said to allow easier personalization over that of the current Android Market and Apple App Store search engines. Working with your needs the app is said to always be changing dependent on Yahoo! trends at the time, therefore allowing a cleaner, fresher more relevant approach. Extra features on the app give you the option to download your chosen app to all your devices at the same time, meaning that you don’t have to search and download again and again.

Available now, Cnet gave AppSpot a try, and while they liked the idea its user interface was said to need some work. They found the browsing slow with the home screen only displaying three columns with three AppSpot recommendations listed at a time. This meant that the swiping between the choices to access all available made for tiresome work.

This isn’t to say that others may find the app easier to use, so why not give it a go and let us know what your thoughts are on Yahoo!’s AppSpot?

It’s restricted to USA which is ridiculous and unreasonable.
