LG Optimus 3D July Release: Retailer Roundup

The battle of smartphone supremacy still continues, with many new handsets that have either hit retailer shelves already or are about too in the coming months. The list is endless with phones from HTC, RIM, Apple and Samsung. But its another, that of the LG Optimus 3D that has caught our attention today.

We know about the Optimus specs, made a comparison with rival the HTC EVO 3D, given a hands-on of the LG and so on. But its news of the Optimus release and what appears to be a delay, that has filtered through today. According to T3, the new handset will now hit the UK market on July 11th so not too much longer to wait, still many of you were hoping for a launch at the end of June. The phone is up for pre-order in the meantime, so we wanted to briefly outline some of the retailers from which you can grab your device.

Just two days back, our very own Debbie gave you news that Amazon were indeed taking pre-orders of the Optimus 3D with a release date of June 20 with a price tag of £599.99. Today the news has changed with the release now being on July 13th for a price of £499. Play.com on the other hand will be offering the LG on July 12th at a price of £469.

The next is that of retailer Clove when on July 11th, the Optimus will be available with a price tag of £454.80, Three and Orange will also be joining in with the fun although no concrete information has been given.

In terms of specs, we can tell you that for your hard earned pennies, you will receive a 4.3-inch screen, 1GHz processor, 512MB of RAM, expansion to 32GB, 8GB of storage, 5MP camera to the rear and 0.3 to the front, 1080p in 2D format and 720p in 3D, it will run on Android’s 2.2 Froyo OS which compared to some of its other rivals is a little disappointing with most including 2.3 Gingerbread.

Tell us where you stand with the new LG Optimus 3D? Are you convinced with its specs, if so where will you be heading to get yours?
