Sony, Microsoft & Nintendo at E3 2011: Top Buzz?

E3 for 2011 is done and dusted and we brought our reader a ton of news from Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo including Sony’s PS Vita, the Nintendo Wii U, game and console news from Microsoft and much more. Now it’s time to take a look at the social media buzz created by E3 to see which of the major players gained the most attention.

We’ll do this by looking at a fascinating infographic compiled by Webtrends and brought to our attention by Charlie White over on Mashable. The data used was gathered from social media sources such as Twitter and blogs between Monday June 6 and Friday June 10 and the snapshot of E3 buzz, titled Game On! E3 2011 Buzz Wars gives some interesting information. You can see the infographic next.

As you can see the total number of E3 mentions in posts over that time was 1,577,695 with the peak time being on the first day of E3. Of Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo it was Nintendo that gained the most buzz on 43.1% with Sony in second position on 31.2% followed by Microsoft with 25.7%. Meanwhile as far as publisher E3 buzz goes it was EA that came out top with 56.8%, followed by Ubisoft, Capcom, Activision and Konami in that order.
