New Facebook Scam: Free $25 iTunes Gift Card – Watch Out

There are a number of different types of scam, malware and virus that has been circulating on Facebook. The people that come up with these things rely on different factors such as celebrities and people in the news such as the Nicki Minaj tape that’s circulating.

Another few that we have reported on include the bogus emails coming from someone posing as Facebook Security and one that we have seen a lot in the apparent addition of the Facebook Dislike button. Now we have heard of another one, this new Facebook scam wants to give you a free $25 iTunes gift card so watch out for it. See the post below.

We learned of this through an article over on and this looks like one of the most convincing scams we have seen so far. Unfortunately this is a bogus scam that is looking to take control of your Facebook page and gather your personal details. Here’s the second screen that you will expect to see.

As you can see from the image above and as pointed out by Facecrooks unfortunately 59k people have been caught out by this scam. It claims you will get your voucher after following the steps which is obviously not advised. In the first two steps you will also find that you can add a message to the scam before spreading it to your friends.

Once you have completed the first two steps of the scam you will be confronted by a few different surveys with what looks like Apple iTunes branding but don’t be fooled. Unfortunately if you have already completed the survey then you have just given the scammer your details so what we would advise is you follow this link for a guide on how to deal with scams like this.
