Twitter Up In Arms Over Todays O2 Outage, You Affected?

Network O2 has gone down again for the second time in just a matter of weeks and this time London as well as Essex, York, the North East and Peterfield, England have all been affected. Pocketlint have also reported that users on GiffGaff and Tesco Mobile may also find it a struggle to get any network. With a huge number already up in arms over today’s outage, many have taken to social networking site Twitter.

O2 have issued a statement from a spokesperson which reads, “At 10 o’clock this morning we identified a connectivity issue on our network which is affecting both 2G and 3G service in parts of East London, North London, Kent and East Sussex. Customers in these areas may be experiencing difficulty in making or receiving mobile calls, texts or using data. Our engineers are working to identify the problem and resolve it as soon as possible. We apologise to those customers affected and will be updating progress regularly.”

We can report again from Pocketlint that the service is hoped to be restored as soon as possible with O2 engineers working on the problem. Some customers complaints on Twitter have varied with one tweeting, “Been with with #o2 for over 9 years and never had an issue. But these last 6 months have been beyond a joke. Not even 3 are this bad!”
